July 26th 2010

Today was an amazing day, so given that I don’t write a diary I decided to document at least this one.

Julia stood up at the tip of her toes to fill one of her cups from the water dispenser. She is not nineteen months old yet and she’s getting water from the fridge… She had a good laugh as two thirds of the water fell all over her. Eventually the floor became slippery and she almost fell. She did drink some of the water from the cup (two thirds of it also fell off).

Moments later she brought her Sesame Street potty training chair to mom. She didn’t say anything but moms have a sixth sense. Mommy immediately removed her diapers and told her to “sit and do pipi”. Sure enough, Julia for the first time sat and did pipi! We were very excited.

But as she grows her antics also grow in complexity. Tonight she climbed the toilet seat in the powder room (first time I see that one). She left her unfinished cheese in a storage bin unrelated to food (we were lucky to find it early enough). And she refused to be fed by daddy—she wanted “Mamma” (I complied).

cheers,
daddy
